ISU Listed in the RUR “Life Sciences” Ranking

Irkutsk State University is listed in the subject ranking published by the Round University Ranking (RUR) agency. In the world ranking “Life Sciences” ISU is placed on the 538th place, and among Russian universities it takes the 26th place.
Developing Сooperation with the Academy of Sciences of China

Sayana Vologzhina, ISU Geography Faculty Dean, was elected a member of the International Association of Scientists "The Belt and Road Initiative" for a period of 5 years. On November 4-5, the Second Forum of the International Association of Scientists "The Belt and Road Initiative" was held in Beijing, China. Over 120 scientists from different countries took part in it, including Sayana Vologzhina. Prof. Vologzhina presented a report "The Modeling of Processes of Transfer and Transformation of Emissions in the Territory of Southern Baikal".
ISU Buryat Language Department Celebrates its 75th Anniversary

Students from Africa Studying at ISU

At Irkutsk State University five students from Africa (three students from Côte d’Ivoire, one student from Congo and one from Zambia) are studying. Three of them entered ISU this year.
Irkutsk State University hosted the delegation from the Republic of Korea.

The administrative authorities visited ISU with the aim to discuss the prospects for cooperation between Irkutsk and Korean educational institutions and business representatives. It was a part of the official friendly visit of the Korean delegation to the Irkutsk region.

In August ISU students and professor visited Japan to take part in the summer school organized by Hokkaido University. The summer school was held under the East Russia–Japan Expert Education Program (RJE3).

Summer School for Students from the USA

The International Baikal Summer School at ISU Baikal Biological Station has come to an end. For three weeks 12 students and 3 professors from Wellesley College (the USA) studied the features of Lake Baikal ecosystem.
ISU Students Took Part in the International Korean Global Youth Summer Camp 2019

The International Korean Global Youth Summer Camp 2019 took place at Yeungnam University (Gyeongsangbuk-do province). This year more than 80 people have visited International Summer Camp, 5 of them – students of ISU International Institute of Economics and Linguistics and ISU Institute of Philology, Foreign Languages and Media communication.

XIX Baikal Summer School on Physics of Elementary Particles and Astrophysics traditionally took place at the Baikal Biological Research Station of Irkutsk State University. The school is organized by Irkutsk State University and Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (Dubna).

20 students of Chinese language center “Confucius Institute” based at ISU International Institute of Economics and Linguistics took part in the Summer School of Chinese Language.
International Polish Lanuage School – 2019

The International Summer School of Polish language was organized at the Baikal Biological station in Bolshie Koty village. The school is arranged by ISU Polish language Centre in cooperation with the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Irkutsk.
New Partner University from Romania

The official delegation of Oradea University (Romania) visited Irkutsk State University. The main purpose of the visit was to discuss opportunities for further cooperation between Universities under the Erasmus+ program.
