Laboratory of Catalysis | The catalytic conversion of hydrocarbons by homogeneous and nano-catalysts | - Proposed a new type of nanocatalysts based on palladium nanophosphide of broad spectrum of catalytic activity in liquid hydrogenation of alkenes, alkynes, nitro or carbonyl groups.
- Developed a strategy for the synthesis of high-performance hydrogenation nanocatalysts based on complexes of nickel and palladium under the influence of aluminumorganic compounds and complex aluminum hydrides
- Discovered new types of catalyst systems di-and oligomerization of lower alkenes based on carboxylates and bdiketonate palladium and molecular complexes of trifluoride boron with oxygen-containing compounds when active Pd-C bond is formed without the organometallic compounds
The main advantages of the new class of palladium catalysts determining their competitiveness are high technological effectiveness and relatively low cost of synthesis of precursors, low sensitivity to trace amounts of H2O and O2 in the reaction environment.

Laboratory of X-ray fluorescence analysis | The development of theoretical and methodological foundations of physical and chemical methods of control in environmental monitoring. | - Formulated recommendations (generalized approaches) to develop methods of X-ray fluorescence analysis of unsaturated samples, allowing us to create six methods for determining the chemical composition of materials and technological products that can be used for pollution control in natural and industrial areas.
- Refined the technology of membranous standards of aerosols composition simulating loaded suction filters.
- Obtained models of the dependence of fluorescence intensity and background on the chemical composition and the surface density of unsaturated emitters, which enabled us to formulate recommendations (generalized approaches) to select the calibration function for XFA of air sprays, dry and liquid dairy products.
- Studied the effect of micro absorption heterogeneity at the XFA of saturated and unsaturated emitters, created from ultra-fine (D <10 micron) powders.
- Proposed the algorithms for determining the metrological characteristics of spectral instruments, as well as algorithms for intralaboratory statistical control of results of intralaboratory operational control of accuracy of an analysis.

Laboratory of Kinetics of Catalytic Processes | The study of the fundamental features of the mechanisms of cross-coupling reactions to search for new effective "ligand-free" catalysts | A method for distinguishing homogeneous and heterogeneous mechanisms of catalytic reactions complicated by the course of interconversion of several potentially active forms of the catalyst, based on the analysis of the phase trajectories of reactions with similar substrates competing for the same catalyst. The application of this method coupled with the operando spectroscopy technique allowed us to obtain conclusive evidence of a significant contribution of the heterogeneous catalysis in the Suzuki reaction with aryl bromides and significant contribution of the homogeneous mechanism in the Suzuki reaction with aryl iodides. From the kinetic studies we established the dualistic role of a base in the Suzuki reaction, on the one hand, forming intermediates of the catalytic cycle capable to transmetalation; and, on the other hand, participating in an undesirable formation of borate anions that causes complex dependence of the course and release of the product on the concentration of base. An efficient catalyst system for the production of biaryls from low reactive aryl bromides and aryl boronic acids under mild conditions using simple palladium salts without any ligand. | F.
