Abstract
The selected materials of the Fourteenth Baikal Socio-humanitarian readings dedicated to the 360th anniversary of Irkutsk, the 300th anniversary of the Russian Empire and the 170th anniversary of the formation of the Irkutsk regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society are published, which give an idea of the main research directions of scientists studying the history and current state of Russian society and its development prospects. As well as materials of the Political Science Conference with international participation "The region in the country and the world - trends and dynamics of political development", the socio-humanitarian conference "Siberia in the XVII-XXI centuries: history, geography, economics, cultural studies, museology", Peter the Great philosophical readings, which address current problems of history, political science, geography, philosophy, cultural studies, museology and other scientific disciplines.
