Abstract

The collection of papers reflects the history and the unique experience of establishing and developing statistics in Russia and its regions as well as other countries in different historic periods. The basic methodological statements of the papers have been approved at the International scientific-practical conference “Statistics in the strategic development of Russia: facts, assessment, forecasts of social-economic and demographic processes” (Irkutsk, 8 April 2020). The authors focus on the laws and trends of statistics in Russia and the world (starting from the first censuses and up to the latest digital technologies), the indicators of statisctical analysis and the assessment of the modern stage of development of Russian regions in strategic dimension, the meaning and possibilities of statistical methods in the complex study of social processes and complex social problems. The work covers the emerging new social experience of the strategic development of Russia, which reflects the key vectors of implementing national projects at the modern stage. The authors focus on sociological and other data in their study and assessment of the social-demographic situation, urgent problems of the family and marriage, youth problems. The collection of papers is aimed at the academic community, statistics agencies, the leading subjects of regional development, and for all interested in the place and role of statistics in implementing the strategies of socialeconomic and innovation-technologival development of Russian regions, other countries, projects of social development in the conditions of modern threats and challenges.
