Irkutsk State University has been included in the global RUR 2026 World University Ranking, prepared by the Round University Ranking team. Irkutsk National Research Technical University (INRTU) was also included in the ranking. The official release of the RUR 2026 World University Ranking was published on June 9th.
All universities are evaluated according to 4 key areas (each with its own weight): Teaching (40%) – quality of the educational process; Research (40%) – impact and volume of published scientific works; International Diversity (10%) – share of international students and faculty; Financial Sustainability (10%) – institutional income per student and staff member.
This multidimensional approach allows universities to analyze their global and national positions, assess institutional strengths, identify areas for improvement, and compare their performance with that of other universities around the world.
Top 5 universities in the world included in the ranking are from the USA: Harvard University, California Institute of Technology, Stanford University, Johns Hopkins University, University of Pennsylvania.
