ISU is the only representative of higher education in the Angara region in this ranking and holds the 24th position. In the overall ranking, our university is in the 1001+ place. The best among Russian universities in the category of physical sciences is Lomonosov Moscow State University, which is ranked 66th.

Rector of ISU, Professor Alexander Schmidt:

For several years ISU has been included in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2025 by subject: Physical sciences, which includes a large group of Physical science disciplines. On the one hand, this is an indicator of involvement of the university in advanced scientific research in this area and the engagement of its staff in shaping the global scientific agenda. On the other hand, this is a good benchmark for representatives of other scientific and educational directions of the university and for ISU as a whole.
