Summer school of intermediate English for international students was opened yesterday at ISU Institute of Philology, Foreign Languages and Media Communication. The participants are the students of Renmin University of China, as well as one student on their own initiative. The students of RUC are majoring in International Journalism and are fluent in English. At ISU, they are going to start studying a second foreign language – Russian.

The language learning programme includes not only theory and practice, but also game-based lessons. Par example, the students are going to take part in a quest at the 130th Kvartal (quarter).
The school program includes spoken English classes, basic Russian language classes and cultural program. Guided tours around Irkutsk and to museums will be organized for the participants within the cultural program.
The students are going to pass several days in Irkutsk, and the entire next week – at ISU Baikal Biological Station in Bolshiye Koty Village on the shore of Lake Baikal.
