Interregional competition of performances in Japanese
20 April 2023
On April 14, 2023, the Department of Oriental Studies held the 21st Interregional competition of performances in Japanese. For many years, school and university students learning Japanese language from different cities of our country have been meeting within the walls of the Faculty of Foreign Languages of ISU Institute of Philology, Foreign Languages and Media Communication.
The competition was held in 3 categories: school students, university students (intermediate level), and university students (advanced level). It is not the first year that this competition has been held in a mixed format: both in person and online. The performances of the participants were evaluated by university teachers, native speakers.
The Dean of the Faculty O. V. Kuznetsova made a welcoming speech and wished success in further language learning.
The participants prepared speeches on what interests them and shared their thoughts and experience with the audience and the jury. After all the performances, the jury noted the variety of topics and gave useful tips on how to improve not only performances, but also public speaking skills, which will certainly be very useful in the future professional activities of the contestants and listeners.
