ISU students became winners of the conference "Russia and the Asia-Pacific countries: Dialogue of Cultures"

Foreign students of ISU became winners of the International Student Scientific and Practical Conference "Russia and the countries of the Asia-Pacific region: Dialogue of Cultures (traditions and modernity), held at the BSU last Friday.

The conference was attended by students of the universities of the Irkutsk region, the Zabaykalsky Krai, as well as China. Nine undergraduate and graduate students of the International Institute of Economics and Linguistics (ISU IIEL), citizens of the People's Republic of China, participated from Irkutsk State University.

The conference was held in sections: "Language and modern intercultural communication", "Space and diversity of media communications", "Problems and prospects of international education", "Urgent issues of regional studies of Russia and Asian countries", "Development of Russia-China cooperation".

According to the results of the conference, the students of ISU IIEL became winners in the nominations:

  • for the research relevance: Wang Ting (supervisor – Assistant Professor E. A. Kolodina), Hu Shuai (supervisor – Assistant Professor I. M. Belousova),
  • for the creative approach to research: Li Zhilin (supervisor – Assistant Professor E. V. Krainova), Sun Shixing (supervisor – Assistant Professor A.V. Kaverzina),
  • for the best oratorical skills: Cui Songjun (supervisor – Assistant Professor I. S. Shilnikova).

Evgenia Kolodina, head of the IIEL Department of Linguistics and Linguodidactics, noted the responsibility the foreign students of ISU showed in the competition:

"All our participants showed personal interest in scientific work. They prepared high-quality reports, accompanied by informative and vivid presentations. During results summarizing, the commission members noted the high level of preparation of the speakers – the ability to select, analyze and show their research material."
