Irkutsk State University improved its position in the annual National University Ranking compiled by the Interfax International Information Group for the academic year 2021/2022 and took the 56th place.
The ranking evaluates the activity of 358 Russian universities, it includes all the prestigious universities of the country: 29 national research universities, 10 federal, 33 flagship, and 101 universities participating in the federal program "Priority-2030" as well as 4 government and 7 non-state universities. Besides ISU, Irkutsk region is represented by Baikal State University, Irkutsk State Transport University, Irkutsk State Agrarian University, and Irkutsk National Research Technical University.
The ranking is based on the results of special indicators. ISU has improved its positions in such parameters as "Education", "Brand", "Socialization", "Internationalization" and "Innovation".
The universities were estimated in accordance with the results of questionnaires, available data on websites of the educational institutions and information resources of the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education, as well as data from SPARK system and SCAN media analysis system.
The objectives of the annual research "National University Ranking" are:
- to evaluate the activities of modern Russian universities that meet best international standards;
- develop a channel of communication between the academic community of the country and the mass audience;
- find the new methods and technologies to assess the activities of the institutions in the field of education, research and engineering, innovation and social development.
