Irkutsk State University projects receive financial support from En+ Group.
22 projects were recognized as winners of the grant competition, the topics of which correspond to the objectives of the comprehensive En+ Group program to protect Lake Baikal and other aquatic ecosystems from adverse environmental impacts. The winners included two projects presented by ISU.
The project "Handmade houses for birds" is aimed at manufacturing and placing artificial nesting sites in the territory round Lake Baikal, which was damaged by the forest fires, to attract birds and increase the number of species. The grant in the amount of 190,000 rubles has been allocated for the implementation of the project. The project is managed by Igor Tupitsyn, associate professor of the Department of Natural Sciences, ISU Pedagogical Institute.
The project "Eco path. Nature of the Baikal region" is the reconstruction of the ecological trail, located on the territory of ISU Botanical Garden, and planting on it the plants of the Baikal region, including ones from the Red Book. The grant in the amount of 300,000 rubles has been allocated for the implementation of the project. The project manager is Rimma Mukhamedyanova, biologist of the Botanical Garden, Faculty of Biology and Soil Studies, Irkutsk State University.
The start of the projects is scheduled for June 1, 2021.
