Commemorative plaque to honor the memory of Mongolian scientist Bazaryn Shirendav was opened at ISU

On April 21 Irkutsk State University hosted a solemn ceremony to open the commemorative plaque honoring the memory of an outstanding public and state figure of Mongolia, academician Bazaryn Shirendev. The monument is installed on the facade of the building of the ISU Pedagogical Institute. A famous scientist studied in this building at the Faculty of History from 1937 to 1941. The event is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Mongolia.
On this day, in the meeting room of the Academic Council of the Pedagogical Institute, a photo-documentary exposition was opened. The exposition was dedicated to the first students from Mongolia and the cooperation between ISU and the Mongolian People's Republic. A round table "Friendship - Nairamdal: 100 years together" was held as well. The events were attended by the Consul General of Mongolia in Irkutsk and employees of the Consulate General, employees of the Russian Foreign Ministry's representative office in Irkutsk, scientists, teachers, employees and students of ISU, ISU graduates from Mongolia.
