Issues of Cultural Adaptation of Foreign Students Discussed

On January 21st, the members of the Public Chamber of Irkutsk Region visited the International Institute of Economics and Linguistics of ISU. The Public Chamber members met with the authorities and students of the International Institute of Economics and Linguistics of ISU as well as with Konstantin Grigorichev, the Vice-Rector for Research and International Cooperation.

Konstantin Grigorichev told about university's international activities in the current period, and also noted that the work with foreign students is one of the most important areas of ISU's activity.

“The university is not just a platform for students’ initial adaptation, but it is a multi-level system of work with foreign students from the preparatory faculty (pre-degree faculty) to graduation,"- he commented on.

Moreover, the Vice-Rector thanked members of the Public Chamber of Irkutsk region for their supporting international students in the spring semester of 2020 during the COVID-19 virus spreading.

The meeting took place in a friendly atmosphere. Representatives of the Public Chamber of the Irkutsk Region highly appreciated the work of the International Institute of Economics and Linguistics’ staff and teachers.
