Ms Yulia Shirokova, a postgraduate student of the ISU Faculty of Biology and Soil Studies has been awarded a scholarship from the Government of the Russian Federation. The study of Ms Yulia Shirokova analyzes the mechanisms of adaptation of the Baikal deep-sea amphipods to high hydrostatic pressure and changes.

The young scientist has already conducted the first experiments. In the future, she plans to study the ultra-structures of these chemoreceptions, as well as find and isolate receptor proteins.
