As part of the German-Russian Year of University and Scientific Cooperation, under bilateral cooperation between ISU and Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron Center (Zeuthen, Germany), “the TAIGA observatory in Siberia’s Tunka valley project - Russia and Germany open the new window to the Universe” has been commended as an outstanding project among other 24 bilateral collaborations. The coordinator of the project from ISU professor Nikolay Budnev was awarded with a diploma at the ceremony held under the patronage of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany in Moscow on September 15, 2020.
