ISU acting rector, the member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Igor Bychkov took part in the meeting with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. The meeting took place in Novosibirsk and was devoted to the discussion of the issues relevant to the representatives of research organizations and institutions.

At the meeting Igor Bychkov emphasized the necessity of solving ecological problems as crucial factors influencing the standard of living. Igor Bychkov drew attention to the project of Lake Baikal monitoring based on new principles that among other things can contribute to shaping a new ecologically friendly worldview.
