ISU Rector Prof. Alexander Arguchintsev held a special meeting with Eom Kee-Young, Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Irkutsk, to discuss the projects aimed at further development of partnership between ISU and Universities of South Korea.

Prof. Arguchintsev has mentioned in his presentation that Russia’s cooperation with Asian countries continues strengthening due to a number of reasons. And the Russian Universities are considered to play a crucial role in this process.

The Consul General has offered ISU to take part in the so-called Korea Corner project. It has been agreed that ISU will host the annual Korean Language Speech Contest in May. The jury is supposed to include Korean language teachers, the Consulate General officers as well as lecturers from Daegu University (the Republic of Korea).
