Last week Irkutsk State University welcomed the delegation from Kyushu University (Japan): Yoshiko Matsumura, a professor of Languages and Cultures Faculty at Graduate School of Integrated Sciences for Global Society, and Tomo Higashide, a doctor course student, met the administration of ISU Institute of Philology, Foreign Languages and Media Communication.
The guests from Kyushu University presented textbooks published under the research project aimed at studying linguistic characteristics of politeness in Japanese leanguage and delivered a lecture “Japanese Politeness: difference in understanding between Japanese and Non-Japanese People”.
- The interest in learning Japanese language has been increasing year by year. The students of our University perform good results in language contests or applying for master programs at Universities in Japan, - Olga Kuznetsova, the dean of foreign languages department, commented on.
