Representatives of Charles University in Prague took part in the VII All-Russian conference “Educational geological tourism in Baikal region: challenges and prospects”. After the conference they discussed cooperation in geology with representatives of Irkutsk State University. Kostak Martin, the deputy head of Geology and Paleontology Institute, Mazuch Martin, the head of Paleontology museum, and Kavan David, a researcher, proposed their ideas concerning further cooperation.

The main issues considered at the meeting were joint internship programs for students, exchange of geological collections between University museums and participation in grant programs.
The official agreement on cooperation between Charles University in Prague and Irkutsk State University is to be signed in October 2016.
