The Academic Writing Workshop for the Oxford Russia Fund scholarship holders was organized by Irkutsk State University in cooperation with Siberian Federal University at the beginning of May.

Among the participants were students from 17 Russian Universities from Vladivostok, Yekaterinburg, Krasnodar, Krasnoyarsk, Novgorod, Petrozavodsk, Rostov-on-Don, Saratov, Tomsk, and Tyumen. Irkutsk was represented by the students of the ISU Institute of Mathematics, Economics and Computer Science, the Faculty of History, and the Institute of Social Sciences.

The main feature of the school was that it welcomed students of different humanities and social sciences worked together to solve the problem - to learn how to write an academic text of high quality that could meet the criteria of leading scientific journals. The school was held by a well-experienced team of teachers-scientists from different areas: Oriental studies, linguistics, history and sociology.
