ISU has improved its position in the Russian Science Citation Index. The information-analytical system Science Index accumulates information about publications by 3 319 Russian organizations. In this system ISU is ranked 41st among Russian institutions by the total number of publications, and it takes 160 th place by H-index.
The advance of ISU in the RSCI is explained by the gradual growth in publications by faculty members and researchers as well as efforts to trace the citations ISU researchers’ articles have received in other publications.

The Russian Science Citation Index is a large bibliographic database of scientific publications in Russian language. At the same time it is an instrument to analyze the effectiveness of research activities conducted by scientific organizations as it accumulates over 7 million publications by Russian authors as well as their citations.
