Students and faculty members of the Center for Chinese language “Confucius Institute at ISU” made a special performance to present the culture of China at Irkutsk International Airport on February 8th. This performance was conducted under the program “The Day of China” dedicated to Chinese New Year celebrations. This program also marked the start of a large-scaled project aimed at developing tourism links between Irkutsk region and SEA countries in 2016.

– The Center for Chinese language “Confucius Institute at ISU” is the only center in Irkutsk that specializes not only in teaching Chinese language, but also in teaching Chinese culture, - Svetlana Bairamova, center’s head, noted.

The students of the Center for Chinese language “Confucius Institute at ISU” organized a number of master-classes for everyone interested in Chinese culture. They demonstrated the basics of calligraphy that is supposed to be the art and the way to show person’s inner world and feelings. The guests were also invited to try cookies and watch the traditional tea ceremony.
