ISU has organized the research projects contest to support young scientists and PhD students. The winners will get special grants. As ISU is aimed at stimulating its young scientists to conduct research activities, it annually holds special contests to support the most promising young scholars.
– It is well-known that one of the problems Russian Universities and scientific institutions face is the generation gap, that is the lack in scientists and lecturers of a new generation. Given this fact, ISU is trying to provide young researchers with extra financial support. This year we have specified the contest regulations and procedure for young scientists specializing in pedagogy and humanities to apply for an ISU grant, - Alexander Schmidt, the Vice-rector for science and international affairs, explains.
The applications have been evaluated according to a number of indicators: project capacity and background, practical use, the number of articles published in peer-reviewed journals, and etc. The names of the 20 winners have been announced recently, among them there are young scientists conducting their research projects in various spheres. The grant can be used to cover conference registration fees, travel expenses and lab experiment costs.
