ISU Chemists Presented Projects in Europe
22 July 2015
EPF2015

The European Polymer Congress is an international conference devoted to studying a wide range of issues in polymer physics and chemistry, and exchanging best achievements of polymer science. It is held biannually. This year the Congress hosted 1500 academicians from Europe, and representatives from China, USA and Japan. The Congress was supported by the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC), the European Polymer Federation (EPF), the German Chemical Society (GDCh), the Leibniz-Institut für Polymerforschung Dresden e.V. (IPF).

Prof. Kizhnyaev submitted two reports “Polymerization Method of Preparing Polymer-Bitumen Composites” and “New Polyelectrolytes Based on Cellulose and Poly(vinyl alcohol)”. The latter contained some results from polymer-bitumen field – a relatively new trend which the ISU IOCCS has been developing for over 10 years. Irkutsk scientists’ project is an applied one.

Accoding to Prof. Kizhnyaev, one of the academic healthcare center in Britain got interested by the new polyelectrolytes research. Irkutsk Professor already met its representatives and discussed possible cooperation.
