Irkutsk State University joined the Russian-Japanese educational project “Re-Inventing Japan.”
The Japanese delegation from Hokkaido University – Tsuneko Mochizuki, Vice President for International Relations, and Yuki Komata, Officer of the Research Department – visited our University. Irkutsk University was presented by Vice Rector for Continuing Education Nikolai Derenko, Head of International Relations Tatiana Lishtovannaya, Associate Professor Andrew Lishtva (the Faculty of Biology and Soil Sciences), Professor Sergei Kuznetsov and Professor German Medvedev (the Faculty of History).
“During the meeting we discussed the details relating directly to potential participants, areas of research, and administrative issues. If the project is approved by the Japanese part in September 2014, the ISU will send five master students to Japan and host 5 Japanese master students. Moreover, the project allows faculty members exchange in Biology, Hydrobiology, Botany, History and Archeology,” Tatiana Lishtovannaya said.
