The delegation of Irkutsk State University went to Poznan (Poland) to take part in the forum “Days of ISU at Adam Mickiewicz University”. The delegation is comprised of representatives of the Law Institute, the Faculty of Philology and Journalism, Service and Advertising, Geology and Biology and Soil Studies faculties, as well as the Interregional Institute of Social Sciences at ISU. The delegation is headed by the Vice-Rector for Strategic Development, Andrei Mantsivoda.

Deputy Head of the Department of International Relations, Tatiana Pribylyova: “During the forum the participants will make presentations of the faculties and joint projects, conduct workshops, lectures and seminars. The meeting with the authorities of the city of Poznan is also planned. In general, an event of this scale will be held once every two years - by turns in Poznan and Irkutsk.”

The main goal of the forum is to make cooperation between two universities even more productive, to launch new joint projects including research and summer schools.

Reference: The cooperation agreement between ISU and Adam Mickiewicz University was signed in 2005. Since that, nearly 400 people from both sides have participated in programs of student and faculty mobility. Exchange scheme includes semester internships, pre-graduation practice, information cooperation, exchange of literature, joint conferences, and seminars and workshops. ISU students-geologists go on field training practices in Poland. Also, together with the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Irkutsk and with support of Adam Mickiewicz University, a project of Center for Polish Language and Culture at Irkutsk State University is under realization.
