ISU Department of Linguistics and Linguodidactics at the International Institute of Economics and Linguistics held the 19th Interuniversity Student Conference "Urgent problems of Modern Russian Language Studies".
The 20th Speech Contest took place online in the middle of April. The contest aims to promote the Japanese language and culture among Russian students.
On April 23rd ISU hosted the first Interuniversity Eco-School dedicated to nature protection issues, especially Lake Baikal problems. Among participants were students from the Irkutsk region and the Buryatia republic.
The first round of a new quiz dedicated to China called “China Battle” was organized by the Department of Oriental languages of the International Institute of Economics and Linguistics for university students studying the Chinese language to take part.
The first phase of the project has been completed, and the preliminary results have allowed to select the plants that are most effective for purifying aquatic environments from metals and phenols and promising to develop a purification technology.
Joint research of ISU quantum chemists in collaboration with synthetic chemists from the Irkutsk Institute of Chemistry (Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences) was published in the Journal of Organic Chemistry.
“Nonclassical cooperative mechanism in Suzuki-Miyaura reaction – Is it possible?” An article with this title appeared in the 499th volume of the journal Molecular Calculus. The journal is listed in one of the most respected publications in the field of Physical Chemistry and Catalysis (Q1 in the relevant Scimago Journal and Country Rank category).
ISU Institute of Philology, Foreign Languages and Media Communication foreign students from Laos, Germany and France shared their impressions about life and study in Russia.
January 13, 2022 The Center for Korean Studies of ISU won a grant from the Korea Foundation for the implementation of the project "Images of the Republic of Korea and the DPRK in the modern Russian society and the information space."
The Academy of Korean Studies once again supported the activities of Dr Ekaterina Lee, Senior lecturer of the ISU Institute of Philology, Foreign Languages and Media Communication, aimed at the development of Korean studies in Siberia and the Russian Far East.
