ISU international relations development

The systematic international relations development of Irkutsk State University continues. For example, an agreement on cooperation was recently signed with Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno (Republic of Belarus).

The agreement provides for cooperation in the sphere of educational and scientific activities, establishment of academic, scientific and cultural connections, development of the scientific potential of universities and ensuring of high quality vocational training.

It should be noted that this signed official document opens a new page in relations between Irkutsk and Grodno universities. Since the last year Yanka Kupala Grodno State University interacts with the ISU International Institute of Economics and Linguistics. Teachers and students of the institute took part in events held by the Belarusian university, including the SCIENNOMIST summer school for economists and the scientific seminar on achieving goals of sustainable development “Development of the modern economy and education of the Republic of Belarus and of the Russian Federation: risk estimation and management”. In turn, representatives of GrSU participated in IIEL events, one of which was a meeting of the international school of teachers of Russian as a foreign language. Joint events were organized as well.

Within the framework of interaction between the ISU International Institute of Economics and Linguistics and Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, an agreement on on-line form of implementation as well the educational plan of the educational program “Economics”, major “Economics and organization of production of products and services” is being developed. Moreover, a professional degree program is being developed as well.

“This month already, students of the International Institute of Economics and Linguistics will take part in the International Spring Entrepreneurial School (ISES Youth), which will be held at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno at the Faculty of Economics and Management. The school is dedicated to trans-regional cooperation for sustainable development. It is expected that students will take part in the development and defense of team projects, discuss the foreign trade turnover of the Irkutsk region and Belarus, possible joint investment projects and the tourism potential of territories, and visit the leading enterprises of Grodno.
