International scientific-practical conference
"Russia and Korea: a look from Siberia",
dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations
between Russia and the Republic of Korea,
will be held on October 10-11, 2020 in Irkutsk at Irkutsk State University


The conference is organized by Center for Korean Studies of Irkutsk State University and Korea Foundation.
A paper with any of the following or related subjects would be appropriate for presentation: history of Russian-Korean relations, socio-economic, legal and cultural aspects of modern Russian-Korean relations.
Eligible Applicants: Researchers from Russian and overseas universities and academic institutions, experts in the field of Korean studies and related fields working in state and private organizations.


Working languages: Organizing Committee decided to accept presentations and papers in Russian and English languages.

Applicants are invited to submit the following information by e-mail to ivanov_kv@isu.ru: 1) full name, full name of the institution or organization, city; 2) academic degree / rank (if any); 3) contact info (e-mail and telephone); 4) paper title and abstract (200-300 words) in print-ready format, 5-6 keywords. The deadline for applications is April 20, 2020. We will contact all applicants regarding the acceptance of their application by April 30, 2020. The full paper should be sent to the organizers no later than June 10, 2020. All accepted papers will be published and indexed at the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI).

Organizing Committee plans to publish selected conference papers in the next issues of “The Bulletin of Irkutsk State University”. Series “Political Science and Religion Studies” and “The Bulletin of Irkutsk State University”. Series “History”. Both journals are included in the list of Russian peer-reviewed academic journals list of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation (VAK list). In addition, both journals are included in the specialized reference bibliographic service CrossRef and each article is assigned a DOI. Organizing Committee provides hotel accommodation and meals during the conference, as well as partial reimbursement of travel expenses (depending on the number of participants and cost of travel) to participants from other cities and countries whose papers will be included in the conference program. Foreign participants are recommended contact the Organizing Committee in advance to arrange a visa invitation to Russia. Full papers submission requirements, accommodation details, as well as other additional information on the conference will be posted in the 2nd and 3rd Call for Papers. We kindly ask all recipients of this announcement letter to inform their colleagues who are interested in the subject of the conference about it.
