The new Korean center "Window to Korea" has been opened in the framework of the project "Korea corner" at the ISU Institute of Philology, Foreign Languages and Media Communication, implemented in partnership with the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Irkutsk. The opening of the center was the first event of the festival "Korean culture - 2017" held in Irkutsk.
The Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Irkutsk Mr. Ohm Ki-Yeong, Vice-Rector for research and international cooperation of ISU Mr. Alexander Schmidt, Deputy Minister of culture and archives of Irkutsk region Mr. Ruslan Dyachuk, a member of staff of the Foreign Ministry Office in Irkutsk Mr. Alexander Altynnikov took part in the opening ceremony. Also, the event was attended by representatives of the International Department of the Catholic University of Daegu (Republic of Korea), students and teachers of ISU.
Vice-Rector for research and international cooperation of ISU Mr. Alexander Schmidt:
- I believe that the opening of the center will further contribute to the advancement and improvement of the quality of specialists' training. I consider that activities of the Korean center at ISU will allow students and Irkutsk region citizens not only to learn the language, but learn more about Korea.
